More Of Getting What You Pay For - Listing Photos

I'm not going to beat this subject to death for weeks, but I've been showing a TON of houses this week and see some pretty bad listing photos.  This one listing actually made me laugh, so I thought I'd share it.  Again, my ringing question is "...why would a seller allow this?".

Hey!  Stop giving me "the finger"...

Help...I can't see where I'm going...this makes me dizzy.

All offices should put on a seminar about photography.

Looks like the first one was taken from the car.  They didn't even bother getting out of the car  :)

These pictures make my job easier to explain why agents need my services  :)

Jeff - Those are some pretty bad photos. I almost think that brokers should require certain agents to hire a photographer. We all know the agents that are bad at taking photos. Most of them list big money homes and then take photos like the one above from their car a week later. It is really too bad for their sellers.

Jeff, Some people need to take photography 101.

Jeff- Oh well, everything happens for a reason and maybe all these bad photos are a blessing for you; after all you are a great photographer and that is one of the talents you bring to the table, so get your planner out, look at when these were listed, figure out how long this agents takes listings for, mark on your planner at that time to check and see if it shows up on your expired list, then go for it, with all of this ammunition. I try to do a good job with my photos and it seems I get the sellers that want good pictures.  What steams me is when a listing expires and the seller relists with another agent they put up lousy pictures.  Where is that seller that gave me a hard time?

Good plan, Katerina.  Multiply this times hundreds?

Gene - most sellers just don't seem to make the connection between the marketing value of great pics and getting a contract.  Maybe people are still living in the sellers market days.

Oh my.  What are agents thinking.  I have agree sometimes we don't get a great photo and sometimes sellers don't help.  (Like the day I told a seller I would come out and they decided to tear apart their landscaping!)  Oh my.  Had to have a picture to get into the MLS and they wanted it in now.  I have since taken a new one, but if I wasn't enhanced Realtor.com, that picture would have followed that listing forever!

Kim - great point - we have to work with the sellers and prepare them for the photo session.  It won't "just happen".

Why not? Just more listings for you to go after. If you go after 100's; you'll get about 20 of them! Katerina

Jeff~

And I think the same challenge exists at localism.com in the advertising section. Have you looked at some of those shots lately?

Hey Jeff, are you sure folks in your area don't have brown, dried up grass at the top of their "must have" list?  An it's almost Halloween, that's the reason for the dark, spoooooky rooms.
