The Top 100 TV Shows Ever - You Decide About This List

OK, I was reading over a Worldmagblog.com tonight and came across a post about the latest TIME top-ten list.  This go-round it's the top 100 TV shows of all time.  Since I couldn't resist, I checked it out.  I thought the list was pretty good although it seems to favor recent shows a bit much (the new Battlestar Galactica?  Come on!).

I thought we could have a little fun and talk about the shows you'd like to see added (or removed) from this list, and any shows you have fond memories of.  For me, an easy one would be M*A*S*H.  I feel like I grew up with that show - it was popular during the ten years I came of age.  I remember every episode, and the finale (really) made me teary-eyed.

How 'bout you?

Well, I did not watch TV until I was a teen. My mother did not believe in Television. She was a bright Phi Beta Kapa Stanford Student who believed you have to read to learn and TV will turn your brain to mush. This was years ago. When I was a teen, my favorite TV show was 'Hawaii 5,0', 'American Bandstand' and 'Soul Train'. Doe that give away my age?

As a young adult I had too many kids to watch TV; I did escape to watch 'Miami Vice' and 'Dallas". I see Dallas made the list. I watched TV maybe once or twice a week while my kids were growing up.

Now I still do not watch TV except for two shows, ' Survivor' and 'Design Star'. I get away and watch those. If I need to vegetate I will turn on HGTV and watch the Real Estate Shows like, Real Estate Confidential, What you can get for your money, ( I love seeing homes from around the country) and those types of shows but very seldom.  Otherwise I am not in a room where there is a TV on.

I listen to a lot of Mozart for brain power! :) Katerina

Listening to Mozart didn't do much for Mozart's wife in terms of brain power.  When he died, she burned a lot of his manuscripts.  She used them as kindling to start a fire in the fireplace..

I forgot all about Miami Vice - that was another great show!  Then there was Magnum PI (for the HI crowd) with Tom Selleck talking to the camera tongue-in-cheek.

Eric- That is terrible, I must not have remembered that. When I was 7 years old I lived in Germany (Navy) and my mother brought me to Salzburg to see Mozart's home and I saw his harpsichord. It was cool. Katerina

That is a cool link, including the books and records as well.  Thanks for posting this!

OK who remembers a show called "I Claudis". As a kid I remember my dad watching "All in the family" and just howling. I did'nt care for it as a child, but now, what a hoot.

Just a side note: if you happen to see an episode of "All in the Family" and "Gilmore Girls" Compare Sally Struthers to the afore mentioned shows. WOW!
