Home Performance - a "black art" that's coming clean

Considering the wide variety of home styles and ages in the Southeast Pennsylvania region, and how horribly inefficient many homes can be energy-wise (ever seen jalousy windows?) I'm always surprised at the relative obscurity of "home performance" as a service.  I'd venture to say that 99% of homeowners don't even know that people exist that can help them lower their energy bills, sometimes drastically.  I work with a longtime Lancaster performance contractor named Tamasin Sterner, who has a great business working with utility companies helping their toughtest customers figure out why their bills are SO high.  My prediction: watch for this industry to be the next wave of new startups to service the real estate community.

This is a good series of articles on how a house performs energy-wise.
